Unchained Robotics, a German startup, has raised €5.5 million to further its mission in automated manufacturing. This funding, achieved on 29th November 2023, boosts the company’s total capital to €7.7 million. Their innovative plug-and-play solution is set to revolutionize the industry by making robotics easily accessible, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Addressing a significant gap in the market, Unchained Robotics caters to the needs of German SMEs. These enterprises often find the high entry barrier of automation technology a major challenge. The company’s straightforward, transparent, and independent solution promises to change this scenario. It’s capable of automating logistics and metalworking processes in factories in just a few hours. Covering over a dozen robotics manufacturers, their platform offers SMEs wide-ranging access to standard robotics.

The malocherbot: a game changer

Mladen Milicevic, Co-Founder of Unchained Robotics, introduced the MalocherBot. This unique product exemplifies the company’s commitment to easy-to-implement automation. Already in global use after a few weeks, the MalocherBot can automate common manual processes in logistics and metalworking swiftly. Milicevic emphasises that their online platform has streamlined the search and selection process for automation, making it simpler, faster, and more efficient.

Investment & expansion

The investment round was led by Future Industry Ventures, a collaboration between SBI Holdings and Redstone. Other contributors included Teklas Ventures, vent.io, and existing investors like BORN2GROW and Archimedes New Ventures. Several business angels, including Christian Hülsewig (Schüttflix), Marek Lehmann, Eike Klein (both u+i ventures), and Reinhard Rabenstein, also participated. Moritz Schwarz, VC Principal at SBI, praised Unchained Robotics for their understanding of SMEs and recent development. He highlighted their role in democratizing automation.

Plans for the future

With the new investment, Unchained Robotics plans to expand its sales and services. They aim to cater to the growing demand for MalocherBot across a broader range of applications, underscoring their commitment to the future of automation.
