Osnabrück-based GastroTech app NeoTaste has secured a €15.1 million Series A extension. The round was led by venture capital firm Earlybird, with participation from Burda Principal Investments (BPI). This injection of funds brings the total raised to €21 million. Earlybird’s Dr. Christian Nagel and Dr. Maresa Buttlar praised NeoTaste for its innovative approach.
About NeoTaste
Since its inception in September 2021, NeoTaste has rapidly grown. It now serves over 750,000 users and collaborates with more than 3,000 restaurants across 27 German cities. The app is now expanding into a new city every week. NeoTaste differentiates itself by offering unique deals to users, fostering a win-win scenario for both restaurants and customers. Restaurants can attract new customers without upfront costs, while users enjoy exclusive offers. The app charges a subscription fee but promises an unmatched value proposition. Plans are underway to introduce features like direct reservations, enhancing the digital dining experience further.
Vision and impact
With €21 million in Series A funding, NeoTaste aims to redefine the restaurant-customer dynamic. Sander’s vision for the company is ambitious, focusing on expanding the app’s footprint across Europe. The funding will support this growth, bringing NeoTaste to more cities by year-end. The company’s approach creates a symbiotic relationship between diners and eateries, promising new culinary adventures at no additional cost to restaurants. As NeoTaste embarks on this journey, it not only aims to enrich dining experiences but also to forge lasting connections within the culinary world.
BPI’s Julian von Eckartsberg expressed excitement about continuing the partnership. Friedrich von Wulffen highlighted the app’s remarkable growth and expansion.
We are proud to have Earlybird, one of Europe’s leading venture capital funds, join us on our exciting journey with NeoTaste, and we greatly appreciate BPI’s continued trust. With €21 million in Series A funding, we are perfectly positioned to take NeoTaste to the next level on all fronts and realize our vision that has been kept behind closed doors until now.
Hendrik Sander, CEO of NeoTaste
The funding will fuel NeoTaste’s expansion into new European markets, following its Amsterdam launch.
