Frieda Health, a burgeoning Femtech startup based in Berlin, has secured a significant pre-seed investment. This €2.5 million funding from the Maximon Longevity Co-Investment Fund will propel Frieda’s mission. The startup aims to revolutionize menopause treatment, focusing on both physical and mental health aspects.

A holistic approach to menopause

Longevity.Technology highlights Frieda Health’s commitment to building a holistic digital health platform. It’s designed for women aged 45 and above, combining medical and psychological support with digital innovation. This approach addresses menopause as a multifaceted life stage, offering comprehensive support through this transition and beyond.

Expanding reach and capabilities

The investment will enable Frieda to scale and implement its digital platform and expand its user base. Plans include intensifying research and development, evolving the platform, and broadening its reach. A skilled team, with expertise in health data, software development, gynecology, and psychology, drives these efforts.

Redefining women’s health in later years

Valentina Ullrich, CEO and Founder of Frieda Health, emphasises the need to focus on menopause. She highlights the importance of understanding its impact on ageing and age-related diseases. Ullrich stresses that while women generally live longer than men, the quality of these years is often diminished by poorly managed menopausal symptoms and related health issues.

Positive ageing and innovative solutions

Ullrich envisions a shift in the perception of ‘Positive or Healthy Aging’. Frieda Health’s mission is to transform this narrative. By offering innovative solutions, the startup aims to improve women’s overall well-being and quality of life during these crucial years.

Menopause: a critical factor in women’s healthspan

Recent research underscores menopause’s critical role in women’s healthy lifespan. Frieda starts with holistic menopausal support, treatment, and research. Ullrich points out the necessity to delve deeper into the interplay between hormonal changes and age-related diseases. She asserts that understanding menopause is key to addressing the female ageing process.

Maximon’s support and vision

Caroline Wagner, Founding Partner at Maximon and newly appointed Board Member of Frieda Health, expresses excitement over the partnership. Maximon is dedicated to supporting companies that enhance people’s healthspan. Wagner acknowledges menopause as a key starting point for age-related health issues in women and applauds Frieda’s focus on this underserved market.

Frieda’s recent funding marks a significant step in addressing the treatment gap in menopause. It signals a move towards a more comprehensive understanding and management of women’s health in later years. With Maximon’s support, Frieda Health is poised to make substantial strides in improving women’s health and quality of life.
